Ok ive changed my mind :D

Turbo 2 swap is not happening anymore due to prohibitively high costs, so!

This is on its way from tweakit
rotary.

50mm throttle bodies.

Mazda RX7 IDA Weber Manifold - 13B Turbo

Lightened steel flywheel.

These will be put onto my spare turbo 2 engine i have lying around, turbo removed. And then that engine will be transplanted into my fb (it currently has a carbed 13b turbo 2 engine so swap will be no prob) The engine will first be rebuilt and I will have it ported with the most aggressive street port they will do. The car has a 3" exhaust system already so this setup should make some pretty good figures. Will probably be going with a megasquirt and will use the injectors off the 13b turbo 2 engine. I dont think im being to optimistic in saying that this setup may have as much power as the turbo 2 swap (engine would have been standard) and now the engine will be rebuilt too.

Will keep you guys updated, should be pretty interesting.

Cya

I like the looks of that. Very similar to what I have been debating doing to my SP 12A.

did you actually buy them or still thinking about them? I would like to know how they stack up against my setup. Those were the original ones that I wanted to get but instead opted out for the Fuji racing ones. I have not found one thing about those ones anywhere on the web (as in reviews) so would be nice to have one

so youre running NA on S4 rotors? why are you running 3" with NA? that thing will scream up top, but will be a slacker down low.

I imagine that he had 3" for the turbo plans. He should probably drop it down for low end and noise considerations.

We only get s4 turbo's down here so its all I have to work with, my current setup is an s4 turbo with the 12A nikki carb and intake manifold and an adapter plate and a new exhaust manifold and the 3" exhaust (all was put in by previous owner) and its putting out 142bhp with that really restrictive carb. The 3" is loud but the car has lots of low down grunt and goes well. Have to stick with exhaust because getting an exhaust down here for a rotary is very difficult, this one was sourced from up country by previous owner and is well made, I can deal with the loudness. Id rather not pay to change something that is working well for something else if i dont need to, I know its too large but current engine has good torque, 151 ft.lbs and good bottom end and its not going to need to breathe as much as next engine (may even go bridge port if builder doesnt want too much for it) I doubt its going to make so much of a difference performance wise as to be worth the cost of importing a rotary exhaust, loudness would be the main consideration and I can put up with it.

Go bridge! You won't regret it. As for the loudness, just get a presilencer added to your existing system, it'll be just fine. Very interested to see how the megasquirt works out!

Hehe just dropped my engine off at my builder and spoke to him and I am going for a bridgeport, just couldnt resist, with all the money invested in the itb's I want to make good power, they should also make it a more driveable than a carbureted setup. This thing should fly! Going to take a while though as he is quite busy. Anyways will keep you updated.
