Oil (?) on top of the engine - passenger side?

Wow, that thing is immaculate.
I wouldn't be surprised if your "leak" is small enough to just ignore for the time being.
It's going to shine with a good cleaning. Spray the degreaser on liberally, give it 20-30 minutes to work, then use a paint brush to work it around the areas where the grease has accumulated. Just be careful not to break any of those wires and connections. Moderate spraying with the garden hose to wash away the degreaser won't hurt anything in your pics, just make everything cleaner.
Can't wait to see the before and after!

Thanks again.
The car has had a bath. While I didn't go all nuts and wax it like I probably should have, the car is at least clean now. I did as you guys suggested and sprayed Simple Green everywhere under the hood. I did avoid hitting the distributor with much of anything, but as far as dirty spots go, I sprayed and rinsed. I must admit, I was pleased with what happened to the small bit of grime that was there. Here are the results:
Now, to just figure out that pesty little leak.
Other questions / comments:
1) I plan to change the radiator fluid soon. Local mechanic says he'll be happy to do a full flush and fill. Any thoughts? Recommended antifreeze? I assume I should replace the thermostat at the same time. Any recommended supplier for that part?
2) The strange business with the choke kicking OUT seems to have resolved itself. I will wait to see if it reappears.
thanks again!!
