oil metering pump

Unless he miss typed FD instead of FB, he is installing a 3rd gen REW in his car. I'll be the first to admit tha t I don't know dodo about the 3rd gens, but he will have the same problem with the electric mop and ecu as the guys that do the S5 swaps have.
If the Lowes kit works on the REW mop, good, problem solved, but the Rotary Aviation pump doesn't seem doable because the throttle body probably doesn't have the needed linkage/lever to operate the RA or any other mechanical mop.
If his swap is an FB engine, I'm wasteing thread space.

Yeah, he won't be able to *remove* the MOP, but he will be able rebuilt it with the Lowe's kit (washers, gasket etc...).
The Rotary Aviation kit uses the stock mop. You bolt the stock MOP (whether mechanical or electric) to the adapter and go. So your stock MOP is retained, along with whatever actuates it (ECU or linkage) and you're off to the races. The ECU still thinks the MOP is there ('cause it is) and the MOP pumps oil.. it just gets it's oil from the adapter instead of from the oil pan.
It's only when removing the MOP do the S5 guys have trouble.
