Oil Injection Question

I was wondering if there was a good/easy way to find out if my oil injection system is functioning properly. I just got my RX7 about 2000 miles ago and it hasn't seemed to burn any oil. Kind of worried since everything I have read says it should burn a quart every 1000-1500 miles.

Thanks

Am I saying something wrong here using the term "oil injection"? I just am concerned about my car not burning oil. Is this ok? or is there a pump or something that might be fried?

Pull the 2 hoses on the top of the carb, just below the air cleaner. Those are the oil lines. They should be hard plastic lines, with a rubber elbow added to each end.
Start the car, and watch for oil to drip from these lines. If no oil comes out, trace them down to the passenger side front of the engine, and see if oil will drip from the nipples they are hooked up to.
In the meantime, I would recommend adding some 2 stroke oil to the fuel tank, just for safety of the engine. About 1/2-1oz per gallon, till you get the OMP (oil metering pump) system functioning.

Just be VERY carefull when you pull these loose since the plastic gets brittle over time, especially down near the OMP, where you've got exhaust heat close-by. If they do break, and your OMP is working, you won't be driving the car until you find replacements.

Also, Premix is a good idea, even if the OMP is working... Seach on "Premix" and you should find much info on this...
