Just wondering, did all the FB's have oil coolers, or just the SE's. If the 12a's did have oiil coolers would the fact that I don't have one be contributing to my car overheating on the highway?

All FB orginally came equipted with oil coolers.
81-82 12a : air-to-oil cooler mounted under there small radiator.

83-85 12a : water-to-oil mounted under the oil filter.

84-85 13b : air-to-oil cooler mounted in front of the tall radiator.

So what is the year of your car?

79 and 80 were the same as the 81 ,82.

did your problem just start or have you had it for a while? I have read once that someone did remove both coolers, The forum member bought the car that way.
