Oh Snap! I think I found a new project!
I was wondering what to do next since I have all that free time since my car is now finished...And I was thinking about buying a 240SX and make a KA-T out of it...But it didn't create any spark in my head or anything.
Then, in a flash of lightning while in my bed last night, I found out what it's going to be. Another RX7.
An FB. A street ported 20B N/A FB with carbs.
So tell me if I'm completly of, but I think it's not going to be really hard. I may be wrong because I know nothing about the 20B.
I think I need:
-20B eccentric shaft
-2 S5 N/A engines.
-Custom Intake and exhaust manifold?
-20b counterweight
-20b Coils
-Rebuild kit
-NO ECU!
-TII tranny
What are the angles of the rotors between eachoter in the 20b? 12oclock-6oclock-12oclock? Which would simplify the coils incredibly because I could just split the first one to the last rotor...no?
If I have S5 housings and irons, does that mean I can bolt it right in? Or will I need custom mounts? Can anyone give me a ball park price for my project? Is 7500$ not enough?
Thanks!

I would think the angle between rotors would be equal (120 degrees) for optimum balance. You will also need a "fat" plate and 20B studs. And make that 2 rebuild kits.
Search 3 rotor and you should find some threads regarding making a custom 3 rotor engine.

rotors offset should be 120 degrees...12, 4, 8 (if u use a clock) or 0, 120, 240 (for degrees) or 0, (2 * pi) / 3, (4 * pi) / 3 (for radians)...
good luck with the build...no clue on costs though

for that money figure, get yourself a used 20b and get yourself 3 n/a rotors, buy the rebuild parts separately since all you need are the rotor seals and springs along with coolant seals and oil seals. You make the gaskets yourself.
But this is assuming you do all the work yourself and do no suspension & brake mods to the car. This should be within your budget. The other mods can come after you've had the car for awhile.
