O ring leak-how long could I wait to rebuild?
My '85 SE is mixing gas and oil via the rubber O ring leak. The plugs fouled badly over a 3 month period. How long would you wait to rebuild? What will happen when the ring finally goes? How much damage could be caused by waiting? It cannot pass emissions now due to the leak and the car has 163,000mi. on it . It runs good otherwise and had high 8s and low 9s on the rotors from a compression test 2 yrs. ago.

change oil, new plugs and repeat untill you get sick of it. The o-ring will never "finally go" it will just get worse and worse.
Only real damage would be if you get too much gas in the oil. I'd run thicker oil then recommended in your owners manual.

I work in uptown and live near S. Meck. high school in South Charlotte. I love the car but it is old and always one thing after another. What area are you in? The Mazda Sports Car Club-Charlotte area group usually meets each month. We are pretty informal and a very small group. We have been moving the meetings around lately.
