If it has a clutch pedal, I don't see why you couldn't cobble something up similar to a second generation clutch interlock switch. I mean, it's just a switch that makes/breaks a starting circuit by pushing the pedal down or letting off the pedal.
Maybe someone on the first gen forum has done this before???? Might ask if you have not already.

He's asked. No one really know's. He asks because maybe someone in the FC section has any experience with the switches and could help him out. You really don't need to be a dick about it. Only thing I could think of is if you were to just run an 87 or newer tranny which already has the switch

Lol, welcome back to the 1st gen section once again....
Try the racing section if you haven't already. If this is needed to meet the regulations, then there must be a number of other racers that have already tackled this problem.

I think I replied to this question the other day, but here goes again. Clutch safety start switches were intoduced to the 2nd gens in 87. You might try finding one of those and bridging it into the starting circuit of your 1st gen. You will need the wiring diagrams of both chassis to wire it in correctly. In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs. Good luck.
