Now i know what BRAP BRAP sounds like It's alive!!!!
Finally got the 1/2 bp-1/2sp 12a fired up tonite. This is my first rebuild and I am, how should i say this, walking around with an extra shifter in my pants.
Hope you enjoy the vid and the sound as much as I do. As they say on Speed Channel, turn up the sound of speed.

I used to run a 12a full bridgeport on the street. That is before the turbo setup ofcourse. I think the power is ok with a light flywheel to spin it up quick from the useless powerband range of idle-4000rpm. I think it works ~ok in the country, but not good in city usage. I didn't like it in the noise or fact that the engine was spun so fast, you really should upgrade to all the things necessary for sustained high rpm if you decide to do road course racing. I am much more content with boost and streetport. I actually did use a turbo on the bridgeport, but carbon seals didn't last long.

It means street-ported primaries bridge-ported secondaries.

Thanks for all of the compliments. The primaries are a good sized street port, the secondaries are bridged and the exhaust is ported pretty well too. In the vid it was idling at 1k, but it will idle at 800rpm, which I didn't think was possible.
At idle the whole car just sits there and rocks back and forth, loping like it has a huge , dare I say, cam.
Went out this afternoon, and it fired right up like the old motor did. The pic below is a firm, but not hard start, keeping the rpms under 3k, with 245/50/15 BFG T/As. Of course I had to do it twice.

That's what I'm talkin' about. I had a '79 Datsun with a
bridgeported 12a, the shocks were pretty worn out, so
you ought to see the look in peoples faces when they'd
see the body rocking side to side. Had a great time with
it, had to sell when I joined the military. Tks for showing
it man.

I don't know how streetable it's going to be yet. I have the Mikuni on it and it is still jetted for a stock port 12a. I did have a set of jets in it for a 13b, but it flooded and fouled them the 3rd day I tried to start it up. I have a Holley 600 waiting to go on, but I need a few parts for the carb first.
It will be a while before the car hits the street. The body was striped down, leaving only the dash and wiring harnesses. Everything else was removed and refurbished or replaced.
As far as hp, from my reading, it should be in the 225-240 hp range. What I actually achieve remains to be seen. The motor was built out of parts from 3 others and only the soft seals, minus the oil control rings, were replaced. Since this is my first rebuild and porting, I couldn't see risking a full rebuild kit, in case the bridges failed. The motor that came out of the car ran strong, but had a dowel pin leak, so I have a backup to rebuild in case this one doesn't last long. I also have everything I need to do a TII swap, so my options are are open.
I've enclosed a pic to show the current state of progress.
