Noob here...

'Sup everyone?

Since this is my first post, I guess I'll intorduce myself. I'm Keith, the administrator of autotunerforums.com, and the potential buyer of an early 80s FB.

I don't know the exact year of it yet, but it's older than '83, as it has the high back seats. I'm looking to make it into a performance car, and a supplement to my current Jetta.

I'm considering a few different swaps for the RX7. I'm probably going to put in a T2. I've also considered dropping in a v8, but that seems kinda sacreligious.

I plan on adding a LSD rear, and a handful of other performance mods. I want it to be quick. I dont want 300+whp. 200whp would be cool, although it's alot to ask from the 13b-dei without internal work.

Back to the researching...

Haha... yes I do...

Everyone always called me a ricer, because I drove a Honda in a domestic dominated area. Domestic rice runs rampant around here like STDs in a ***** house.

Hey, Uncle Ben. Welcome.
You can achieve 200 whp with a 13b without internal mod, I believe.

-But Shhhh! about that V8 business! You'll wake up the trolls!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

V8 RX7s are heresy on this board, eh?

What is a decent price for a T2 with all accessories and tranny? Also, how much will a FB LSD rear run me?

Thanks in advance guys.

If you want 200 HP dont do a TII swap, if you want 300+ go for it. Buy a RB exhaust, get a holley or a weber whatever your preference, jet it, then get the intake, header. Um do a street port or more if you'd like and you'll come close to your mark.

Now if you just want to get rid of the 12A then I guess a TII swap would net you the gains you want. A rotary could attain 200+ with no internal mods. Now if your planning to race or sustain revs above normal driving for a long duration of time, internal mods will be a good idea.

A GSL-SE rear end with LSD and rear discs will be about $150, now before everyone yells at me I got mine in a junkyard so I dont know what an average price would be. I dont know what the price is for a TII but I would imagine the engine tranny and the swap itself will exceed 3-4K easily. modding a carb'd 12A will cost slightly less and be slightly less labor intensive but definately has potential for 200HP
