No need for A/C

Ok come to find out there isnt a bellt on my A/C guess that work for me was already done. ANYWAY, to the next idea. Im gonna take off the a/c unit, any ideas on what I should replace it with, its still a daily driver, and I drive all vehicles I owned without a/c anyway. Im looking into performance as well though.

Tint it if you're concerned. I ditched my AC and you're fine if you pop the top off and roll the windows down.

What do you mean "replace it with"? You want a new AC system?

I took out my AC, thinking, "pshh, I'm young, I can handle the heat- and all that stuff looks really heavy" And you know what? I was right. It's not that hot anyway. Just open your windows and pop out your sunroof!

Not to threadjack or anything, but I was thinking of getting an alternator relocation bracket. What do you have to do in terms of wiring to hook up ther alternator down there?

I just took the factory wire loom off and routed all the needed wires to the new location. All the other wires where recovered and left in place. You only need two wires for the alternator.

There's not much to stuff up. iwould suggest spraying the connections on the lines with Innox or similar a couple of times in the days leading up to when you are going to take it out. If it still has gas in it make sure you don't breathe that **** in when releasing it. You will be surprised at how much the unit, condenser and lines actually weigh when you get them all out.

oh yeah, A/C is for girls

so.... say I DID breathe in some of that gas... or alot of it... what should happen? I'm not dead...

Oh and theres a little pressure fitting thing on the compressor unit that will allow you to depressurize the system. Thats my main tip. Push on it with a key or a pen and hold your breath. Theres alot in there (at least there was in mine).

Not that I'm advocating the release of CFC's into the enviroment... This is assuming you were just going to unscrew the lines and vent it that way. If you want to be enviro-friendly take it to an AC shop and they can drain it.
