No more RWL tires retail

So I currently have Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires 205/60R13 with Raised White
Letters (RWL) on the sidewall. Very old school. I like the look a lot, the tire
performance is average.

Anyway, I had a tire go low on me and didn't notice and drove on it. Scuffed the
RWL on the side and compromised the sidewalls a bit. I figure, no biggie, I'll just call
the place where I got them and get a new one. Make the call and we talk about it,
the guy there looks it up and can't find it. I bought these a little over a year ago,
maybe 2 years at the most. He said call him back, he needs to look around.

So I start looking on the web. I can't find these tires in that size anywhere. Last
time I looked you could get them at tireamerica/discounttires etc for about $70.00
a tire. Now, no way it will show up. Only tires in that size are Sumitomos, Hoosier,
and Toyos. Also no RWL on any of those.

I call my guy back and its the same story with him. He can't find em anymore. He
remembers when I bought them but at this point no way to get them. Either out
of production or out of stock.

Luckily, I bought 5 of these tires and mounted the 5th on my NOS waffle spare.
I'll just have them swap the damaged one for the spare new tire. I was a bit
freaked out until I checked my spare. Anyways, you been warned. The only other
tire in that size with RWL would be the ones the legend race cars run but they
aren't available retail.

Try Pep Boys if you have them, too; the Futuras I run are the very similar to the Cobras - - made for them by Cooper, in fact. Not bad tires and dirt cheap.

I just went to their website, no tires in the 205/60R13 size at all. I suspect Cooper got out of the 13" size altogether.

I appreciate this feedback, believe me I looked around. It just looks like RWL is
so old school that they don't make them for 13" anymore. 14, 15 sure, no problem.

I just wanted folks to know if they go looking for RWL right now its not there. I'm so
glad I bought 5 tires when I did get these.

I haven't been able to find RWL in the stock 185/70/13 size for the last ten years. Too bad, they look really good on an FB.

I couldn't find H-rated 185/70-13 tires 13 years ago when I bought my first 1st-gen.

Yeah its sad really. You'd think the tire mftrs would want to keep us in RWL tires but
I guess they make more money selling tires for 22" wheels and such.

I think I'll try talking to some of the tire folks when I go to the Mitty and see what
kind of responses I get.

Did you run these on the stock waffles? Like they fit?
