take the glove box door to a locksmite to have him make a key that will fit it...that key will also fit your doors. As for the ignition??? Maybe you can buy the ignition switch $15.00 and pay a mechanic $??.?? to install it.

i had this EXACT same problem... this is what you do...
the car is too old for the dealer to still have the keys with the vin number...
you take the door panel off of the passanger side door.
pop the rods off that go to the key hole, and get the actual lock out of the door. (its held in by a clip)
now when you take it out, theres a 4 digit number on the side, that its you "key code"
take it to a place that specializes in making keys, locksmith, whatever. tell them you have a 4 digit number, and tell them what happened, some places require you have a title in your name, but the place i went did not. they will cut you a key, and bam, you got yours
i asked the same thing on here, and i was told the vin number, but when i called the dealer, like i said, they told me i was way too old of a car for them to still have the key on their computer.
hope that helps

Ok,thanks for all the good advice! I bought this car at a police auction and as soon as I get through all the B.S. runaround that you have to go through at Md. DMV to get a title I will do what you guys suggest.I've already wasted one afternoon with that already! Still I have to go back to a main office or wait 2-3 weeks to get a salvage title. Then to get a real title,I have to set up an appointment with a cop so they can sign off that the car was abandoned. At least according to the last person I talked to I will then get a legitimate clear title for the car.

beside's the glove box and the rear compartments, the hatch lock would be much easier than the door to remove, much easier. I'm not sure a key can be made from the glove box or storage bins, I like to think they are much simpler locks that don't use the entire key.

I went to a dealer and got a key that fits everthing but the glove box.Cost me 8 bucks. Now if I can only figure out why it will not start...
...but that's for a warmer day than today was!
Thanks again for all the advice!

Getting car home
Well first I had to pay a rollback driver 25 bucks to pull the car out of the yard across the street. They will not allow you to load a car on a trailer or use a tow hitch, etc. in the Baltimore inpound lot.Luckily one window was down so I could make sure it was out of gear.Once the car made it across the street to another city truck parking lot I used a hand winch to pull it onto my trailer.Had to pull it sideways several times since the wheels were turned. Was lots of fun, especially with an audience of city truck drivers making wise cracks! At least they were impressed with the car.Had keys made at a dealership before I rolled the car off my trailer. Now it is sitting in a storage barn out of the snow.

What info did you end up giving the dealer so they could make the key?

Ok, I talked to a dealer a while back during my resotartion because I only had one key for my car and it was a copy. The guy I talked to informed me that the first way to try and get a key is with the VIN number, but it depends on when the last time the car was used in the system was. For instance, if no one had taken it in for serivce or anything in like 10 years (for example), the computers will automatically remove it to make room for other cars. So, its really a matter of luck if your car will be in there or not. My car wasnt, so I was going to use the lock number way, but I never got around to it before the car was stolen. It was going to cost me $10 a key after tax, so $30 for a brand new set (two masters an a valet key). Since the car was stolen and three of the lock destroyed, Im just gonna buy a new lock set now, lol.
