No Gears after engine swap

No Gears after engine swap
Rotary Gods please help... so after I install my new engine I notice that the car does not go into gear. I visually see the slave cylinder pushing the fork, I removed the tranny to make sure in installed the throw out bearing correctly. I installed a new master cylinder and i adjusted the play on the clutch pedal. I still get no gears when the car is on. When its off i can push the shifter into any gear but when its on no gears and reverse grinds. By any chance could it be the cables that go to the tranny from the wiring harness. I just plugged them back in how ever because the cables coming out of the tranny where not color coded.
If any one is free in the new york/ Brooklyn area thats wants to come a help, a few brewskies might be in your future lol. Thanks guys

Can't be caused by the trans wiring; that just picks up gear position and reverse for lights and emissions control.
My guess would be that the clutch disk or pressure plate is incorrectly installed. If you get the disk in backwards, for example, it can prevent clutch release.
That, or your pilot bearing is seized, or the clutch fork is off the pivot.

I'm late to the party, but yeah it's definitely not the wiring. How loose does the throwout fork feel if you try to push it by hand? Like DD said it might be off its pivot. It shouldn't have much play in it at all by hand...

just a rebuild.
im guessing it got to be that i installed the clutch on backwards. looked at the haynes manual and the only thing it mentions about the install of the pressure plate it to line up some marks. But my clutch is not oem so it does not have any marks on it, i just lined up the holes on the fly wheel with the pressure plate, am i wrong about that? Its a fairly new clutch and puressure plate i only replaced it 5,000 miles ago. Ima retake the tranny off.... PITA and let you guys know.

The clutch friction plate should have a side that reads "FLYWHEEL THIS SIDE"
The center of the friction plate does have a larger side (the side that faces the splines) and would not engage if it was installed backwards.

I have messed up a pressure plate when I was ripping an engine out of a car one time and pulled the splines back. You could have done the same thing putting the engine in. That would really do an number to the engaging ring on the clutch system, but lets try to think possitive.
EDIT: I'm a mad man with the cherry picker when I am pulling junk engines.
