No fuel to carb

Hey there guys I got a 85 rx7 that has been sitting for about 4 years now I’m able to start it but dies immediately. I disconnected the fuel line and no fuel just sounds like gurguling but no fuel I took off the out line from the fuel pump but no fuel I poured in 5 gallons of gas in is that enough should I fill it up or drop that tank? Any help would be appreciated thank you for checking

Sounds like the fuel filter is clogged or the pump isn't working.

Do you have gas coming out of thertank before the pump? If yes, then you have a restriction between the pump and the carb. If no, then the tank pickup or line before the pump is blocked. Try blowing air from the outlet hose of the pump to the carb. If that works, try the same thing except towards the tank.

did you empty the tank before putting the clean stuff in? i got a car that was parked for 4-5 years as well recently and the tank was absolutely horrible on the inside and half filled with old disgusting gas, defenetily drop the tank and take a look inside, its pretty easy to access
if that looks good then its porbably needing a carb rebuild, i just took mine off the car and took it apart and its in desperate need of it, old ethanol powder crap in my floats and channels clogged up, my car was doing same thing yours did as well, start for a few seconds then stall over and over, id play with the choke and retry over and over for like 15 mins before it would even roughly stay on.

the gurgling could mean that the pump is installed backwards, blowing air into the tank, ask me how i know.
