Nikki rebuild kits
Contacted autozone and they are telling me that the rebuild kits 96-555 and 96-462 are out of stock and the vendor may not be supplying them any more? Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah i just got one a few weeks ago to. I don't like Auto Zone much at least not the one near me. No one in there knows what they are doing so i go to O'reilly's a lot more now. My kit came with a lot of extra parts for the emission system but everything fit good with no issues.

Not that know of off the top of my head. Ebay has a couple right now you would have to contact the seller about shipping though.
Here it is it seems really expensive though but it does come with a good ruler for adjusting bowl levels.

Go to http://www.mazdatrix.com, they have it and will ship internationally. I
would check more thoroughly in Aus as there are a lot of rotaries there and its
got to be available down under somewhere.

Gotta say, I wasn't that impressed with the Black Dragon kit - - theirs uses a lot of fiber washers in places where aluminum is more appropriate.

most of these are old stock warehouse kits. i don't believe most of the carb kit suppliers still make the nikki kits any longer. i had even more trouble finding the hitachi kit for my REPU, luckily the warehouse auto parts store in that little BFE town had one of the few left in stock, i had to blow the dust off of the box when he handed it to me...

I woulldn't give up, frankly autozone doesn't hire the best or most ambitious there is also the hygrade 1401 I beleive is the number that can be sought out.
matter of fact one of the locals did his within that last month (79 SA) I beleive he ordered from checker. Any store that has it in stock would make me nervous it must be a movement code of 8 now on the verge of going 9 which is obsolete

I can confirm you HAVE to order it from the autozone website ONLY. GP Sorensen is no longer supplying the kits to the hubs, therefore the stores can not get them. No one knows why, it just is.

if you guys are ordering them just try here first and pay less:
http://rockauto.com/
edit: nm, looks like they are out of the nikki kits too. strange they still have a few hitachi kits for the REPU still though.

$$$$!
It says the 84-85 kit is discontinued... I wonder what's different about it? My car is an 85.
I got my GP Sorensen kit from Advance today. It's the 80 kit... my car is an 85, but the carb I'm rebuilding is probably from a different year anyway. I'm wondering if they changed the jet or air bleed sizes between the years. Someone get out the spotlight and shine the Sterling signal!

tried ordering online 96-462 but theyre out of stock at the vendor and autozone sent me an email saying they canceled my order. then tried ordering it through the phone to pick it up at the store but they say the same thing and are not sure when their vendor will restock it
