well then all thats left is one hell of a vacuum leak somewhere i would think! Can you move the linkage when the car is running all the way closed is there still a dash pot on the carb? I am sure you moved the idle screw out. Choke or no choke? basically when the car is running if the butterflies are closed there is a hell of a leak somewhere!

Wow that pic looks a lot like my old car engine bay at the first stages of being modded... wait a sec, the intake box lid, the engine color, the car color, the dedicated red electrical line from the positive to the subwoofer, the blue vaccuum lines, the double pulley... that is my old car! where did you get that pic?

i had a similar problem one time, everything seemed to work fine, moved the timing a bit, it would start run a few minutes then cut off again, wouldn't pump gas into carb . . . anyways long story short, came to find out that some wires were touching the engine and they got fried, and it was creating a short and it was cutting the gas pump on and off, just make sure all your wiring is straight and what not, other than that..i'm not sure what else it could be.

Before you try to start it again, let it sit overnight. First thing tomorrow check the sight glass on each side of the carb for the fuel levels. You might also want to pull a couple of plugs and see if they are wet. That would indicate that you've got a leak and it's flooding out, or if you can't see the fuel level through the glass then you'll know. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything else that could change overnight.
