Nikki 'fuel inlet' Question

Alright, so I'm literally moments away from getting my baby back on the road. I just need one bit of help. The Fuel Inlet Bolt Gasket on the carb is totally messed up, so I'm ordering a new one. This is my first carb job, so bear with me if I know jack **** about Nikki's. I'm pretty sure that I can just get the gasket from any Nikki used on a 79-85 car and be alright. Am I on the right track? Also, what are the carb designation numbers for the different model years?

Cheers,

ian

Not sure if all Nikki's are 4 barrel's and anyway wouldn't you want to just buy the rebuild kit , of which, includes a new gasket instead of using a used one?

let me clarify. I am looking for a new part, not used. The factory manual says 'gasket', but in reality it is more of a washer type deal. Third, I just need to know whether I can use that part from any of the 3 Nikkis that were put on an RX7 from 1979-85.

The washer is an aluminum "crush" washer; a sealing soft aluminum gasket. The kit is for a 12a engine Rx-7. It covers all years.

If you have one that's still in decent shape, just take it down to Napa and have them match it up...

That is the problem. One of them is literally welded to the bolt due to differing metals corrosion, and the other I had to pry off to get the bolt free. Sorry, I should explain what I did. My fuel inlet assembly was f**ked on the original carb due to corrosion. I bought another carb, but it was from an 85 as opposed to my 82, so in the spirit of keeping it original, I just took the parts I needed from the 85 carb and as it turns out, I still need that one gasket. I called NAPA, and they gave me all this crap about, 'now which carb do you want that gasket from? We have three." which got me into this confused mess. Anyway, thanks for your help. the napa guy is going to get bitch slapped.

Would it be practical for you to take the parts involved down to Napa so they could find a washer with the correct fit? In fact, if I remember correctly, I just took the bolts down to them when I replaced mine....
