New Tires, What to get ? 1985 GSL-SE
Getting ready for spring. possibly going for new RB springs and Tokico's. for sure I need new tires. Just wondering what you all run/like . I don't race it or autocross or anything but want to keep the handling as good as possible for the street.
i did a search and didn't come up with a whole lot. I have the stock SE wheels.

I just bought a GSL-SE and am looking for a set of tires.
I would love a set of yokahamas. I run A509's on my 12a car and love them, but they are no longer in production.
I wil let you know what I find.

I got Super Charger 6000 Type R 14" tires from used parts car, Mostly bald. But only use them when the car is in storage.
The only decent tire I'd run on the stock 14" rims would be 205/55R-14 Nitto 555R's $85 each at Discount Tire.

yeah but try to find a 205/55 or 60/14 either they don't sell 'em or they don't list 'em. at least i can't find any.
thanks for the link tho'
i thought about new wheels, but i'm also doing the suspension, and maybe paint. besides, i really like the stock 'SE wheels. (plus bigger wheels almost always means more $$$ tires )

At the risk of offending someone... I have had the Goodyears on the parts car and they didn't last all that long... on the main car I have the best Walmart performance tires (I know, I know) they are directional, made my Goodyear, great price, great warranty and have worked and lasted very well. After purchasing the car, I drove it for approximately 1 year before noticing that one of the tires was a 185 rather than 195 (sue me... who looks that closely... you just expect them to be all the same). Went to Walmart (remember I wasn't the person who bought the tires) and 45 minutes later had 4 new tires on the car... no problems, no cost. Perhaps that great customer service has colored my opinion of the tires... but I definately recommend them as an affordable alternative.

Wow, Felix.. that's really something. You must like to drive hard and have fun! My 205/60's have ratings of A,A, and 140.. they have about 20k miles on them, and look good for another 10k miles. I guess I don't drive hard enough, or have enough fun..

Just don't get Dean Stingers!!!
They are the right size but SUCK hard in rain or cold. I don't care what anybody says they are not even an option. I had them on my SE a total waste of money.
