New Rebuild Oil Pressure

Just wondering, how long should it take for a newly rebuilt engine to register oil pressure on a mechanical gauge mounted in the cab coming from a RB oil filter adapter?
Thanks

usually its quick, like 30-60 seconds of cranking should do it, but i had one recently where the oil pump didn't want to prime. i had to pull off the oil cooler hose and pour oil down it to get the pump to have something in it. i've been building engines since 97, and this is the first time something like that has happened.

That happened to me once. Had to do the same thing.
