New Panhard bar and now my car bounces?

I have just added a panhard bar and now my car feels bouchy, what do you think?

I have installed high rate springs and camber/caster plates, a big ft sway bar, Illiminas in the front. In the rear I have the stick shock and a Ground Control panhard buy I bought off a friend. It is not the best, but what I can afford at this time. I made my own mounting bracket, which moves the bar a bit forward to lesson the in-alignment. When the car is off the jacks and on the ground the panhard bar connection to the axle is ¾" higher than the side mounted to the body. I must have missed a measurement. Now that I have added the panhard bar the rear end feels a whole lot more "bouncy" than it did before.

I know I need new shocks, but why does it feel bouncy?
How will having the body side attachment point ¾" effect the handling? (Tighter or looser feeling)
I need new shocks on a budget, the Illiminas and Koni adjustables are both about the same price, which would you choose?

Thanks ~ JEB

It's bouncy because there is now less resistance in moving the car up and down - no rubber bushings to push around just nice rod ends that move real smooth.
The 3/4" could make a difference, but i dont know what. Are the Koni's the double adjustables or the single?

I have had the ground control panhard rod installed for about 2 years now. It mounts to the axel via a bracket that ground control supplied. That bracket is bolted to the left rear shock's lower mounting bolt. Then weld the bracket on, and weld on the ground control supplied gussets. Since you bought your panhard rod secondhand and it didn't include these parts, I sure hope you fabbed something comparable.

You said you moved the axel mounting point more forward. Alright, but I do bet a six pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale that in addition to moving it forward, you moved it up. And that's the problem. My axel mount for the rod is mabye 6" or so lower than the frame mount. Not the best panhard rod out there, but it works and the car is much more controllable and my lap times dropped a few seconds a lap. And it's cheap and easy to install.

You do want the axel mount to be low, as that will lower the rear center of gravity. Metal rod ends are not compliant like soft rubber. They're solid and hard. My cars rear suspension was a little stiffer with the panhard rod, but not exactly bouncy-bounce.

I think you need to re mount that panhard rod. Sorry.

I bet the rear roll center is all messed up. Buy Illumina rears. Best darn shock for the $.

Get new shocks before you do anything else.
