New manifold tip!

I finally tore off my intake manifold and what a mess. I removed all air and emmisions and the block off plates were leaking bad. Well I got the manifold all cleaned up and then found out that theres only 1 hole that makes the acv and cat air come together and actually leak. I tapped this whole to 1/8'' and used a brass pipe plug, and used the metal to metal epoxy similar to jbweld. Well this has stopped my air leak problem for good, easily and cheaply! Note this is my 79 mani and is different from later years, and also flows better. You can do near the same to the fb mani's, they work the same way, but are shaped diffrent! Well i hope this made it into the tutorial!

Thats a good tip, i'm looking at my 83 manifold, and It would work as well. Also if you use a bolt you wont need a blockoff plate, and won't have to worry about propper sealing. It makes sense that this method should only be done while the mannifold is off the car, Obviously. Good work.

I'd say use some kind of block off plate if you have them just to keep crap getting in there, other then that, 1 bolt or stud or whatever you may use will work. The epoxy really works good blocking off all the other stuff off as well.

Thats how I did the 79 intake on the racecar. "cept I just used 3M 2216 epoxy to fill the hole. You can do the same with the later mannys I guess.
