I use Castrol in my engine 10w40, if you have more mile on your engine you may want to go 20w50.
Castrol hydrolic fluid, dot 3

Valvalen gear oil, but am thinking of using Mobil 1.

For what it's worth the POS Racer gets:

Castrol GTX 20w50 in the Engine

Castrol DOT 4 in the Brakes and Clutch Slave

Prestones Dex-Cool in the Radiator 50/50

Synthetics in the Gearbox and Rear end, Haven’t decided on a brand, I’m currently running Valvoline Sythetic blend, but going to change it to full synthetic this weekend. Put 500 Miles on the blend to help clean out the cases before I put the good stuff in it!

I use nothing but valvoline,20-50 ,gear oils, anything dot 4 for
clutch, brakes, and always use prestone,to keep the water pump
bearing, and cooling system slippery.I like straight grades VS multi-
grades but the rotory gets 20-50

just got some castrol gtx 20w50 oil tonight, got a purolator oil filter (heard they were best), and i am now going to put marvel mystery oil (1 qt.) in with the new oil...and will put some inthe gas too....lubricates everything.. I have the mazda recommended oils in the tranny and rear...may switch to the synthetic soon.. I have been reading up on all this stuff, mostly at the forum , and we have some very knowledgable people out there......good luck......................................cjf..... ................................................

As far as synth oil for the manual trannys, I have used both Redline and Royal Purple. My preference is for the Royal Purple as it made the shifts smoother and, believe it or not, I also noticed a mild increase in fuel milage after switching to it.

I just did an oil change on my car today I put in 4qts of Castrol 20w50 and 1qt Marvels Mystery Oil and I used a Purolator PureOne oil filter for an 85 626... it is the same dimensions except it is about 1" taller than the one they list for the RX-7, cant go wrong with a bigger filter
