Thumbs up new exhaust on my 83 gsl

started building my new exhaust well the rear section any ways im designing a quick swap system for the rear option #1 over the Axel to a magnaflow option #2 under the Axel to the magnaflow to see if i like it option #3 under the Axel to a straight pipe with a walmart resonated tip

all in 3in pipe and for the under the Axel options the 3 in pipe will be kind of smooshed so its oval shaped for clearance reasons and started milling the header flange for my custom header thats about it ill have pics when its done b4 and after tell meh wat u think

Do true duals off a roadrace race header with 2 mini presilencers, a crossover, then duals over the axle to a dual in dual out magnaflow.

that would be awesome but im kinda on a budget using scrap pipe snuck out of the junkyard i got about 8 feet of really good 3 in pipe off of a 80' somethin ford ext cab 4 door long bed truck

and i am building and desinging a custom header using 1/4 in wall 2 1/4 pipe mandrel bent

and i am doing the under the axel just to test noise levels and possible power gains
and the 3 in is just cause i got the pipe for free and for now i still have stock manifold and connecting pipe and its at the very end of the system so it shouldnt matter

ok back to sleep now for me

Unless you have a heavily ported engine, like a 1/2 bridge or more, 3" pipe will reduce your hp. 2-1/2" is more than sufficient for an sp, 2-1/4" for stock porting with a carb upgrade.

i know that im just talkin about aprox 2 feet of the 3 in pipe at the very end of the exhaust system that will go under the axel all the pipe before that is stock diameter pipe which iirc is 2 inch or 2 1/4 if anything it will have a megaphone effect but like i said ill have pics when the rear section is done
