Needed: Rotary Mechanics with Letterheads

I need to have a recognized rotary mechanic write a legal statement for me regarding the habit of older rotaries to smoke considerably on startup. Some of you may remember my earlier thread regarding a reckless driving ticket. Part of the officer's reason for assuming I was racing was the idea that ROTORCOASTER's tires were smoking as he spun them trying to draw off the line. We are all reasonably sure that they in fact were not and that what the officer actually saw was the smoke pouring out of his exhaust.

So, if anyone is willing to help us out in this matter it would be greatly appreciated. The investigator would really like to see the statement written on letterhead from the rotary shop that you work at if possible.

Please PM me if you are willing to do this, and I'll give you my home address so you can mail it to me.

Thanks,
Brian Heston

If all the mods you have are listed in your sig, the tires weren't smoking.
Tell them your car is a 1.2 liter.
If your car smokes, take a picture of the smoke so that one can tell it come from the ehaust and not the tires.

Yeah, ROTORCOASTER is going to get a good pic of his exhaust smoke soon, and that will be included in the defense report. If needed, some MMO or extra oil will be used, but I don't think that having his car produce a smokescreen will be a problem.

I wrote an email to Atkins last night. No response yet as to whether or not they'll help out. If not, maybe I'll write to Mazda & more, and Pineappple. I just hope I can find someone to write a simple statement. It's not like they'd be putting themselves on the line. It's just documenting the fact that these older rotaries smoke like bitches. We all know that already, but the court doesn't.

Yeah, I'm thinking about telling him to do a vid as well as the pics. I think it would have a little more impact.
