Need tips on rebuilding

Two quick ‘should I?’ checks.
- download and watch the Atkins Rotary instructional video and see if it scares you.
- check your budget and make sure $1500 for parts sits Ok with you.
just rebuilt my 12a and I am a total amateur. If going ahead and using the Atkins video let me know. There are a couple of missed items in the video that I had to learn the hard way.

Absolutely agree with Slow Sevens. B4 you drop a DIME on anything, get and watch the (Better!! I know, bought -em both) the Mazdatrix.com's 13B (same tech as 12A) rebuild video. Best $30 you will spend on the project!!!!!
Then if you want to proceed, a TON of help here to offer up.
FWIW I am an oil-change-skills grade 'mechanic' and rebuilt (and *gasp* - it RAN!) a 12A. YOU CAN DO THIS.

With all the issues and hurdles you seem to have with this car like needing to replace the floor pans. And who knows how much more once you start digging. And now with an engine rebuild, I'd think seriously at finding another running/driving RX-7 to begin with. An engine rebuild is going to cost at least $1000 and if you can find a junker to remove the floor pans, you'll have a lot of time/money/resources into this car. Start adding up the cost and see what the difference in cost a better RX-7 would be. If the car has sentimental value, that's a different story.
