need new diff need help!!!
hey there everyone. i have a 79 series 1, i have been through two standard diffs already just with a non-turbo engine.
its going to be turboed soon so i need something a bit better i have been told not to use a ford 9inch because they are two heavy, i heard there is an old mazda van with a good diff and LSD but i am unsure which one???
any advise welcome...
i was thinking about using series4 turbo brakes and i have picked out some wheels that i want but i don't know if they will fit they are 18 by 7.5inch???...
my car will be used mainly for street use and will have about 500hp.
thanks

500 hp eh???
well a ford 8.8 rear end would go well, plus many gear options
your 18x7.5 wheels won't fit
you do know 500 kp is a 10 sec rx7....
you are gonna get flamed large for this post!
anyhow good luck brother

Welcome to the forum and I usually say the Darkside along with that, but it sounds like you're darker than most of us, lol.
A Ford 8.8 is your best choice for a rearend and you will need the TII brake upgrade all around to bring those ponys down. Check out ReSpeed for the kits. The TII brakes need a 15"+ rim for fitement. You may need fender flares or a widebody kit to fit the 18X7.5s and those will be too narrow in the back for your projected hp. I'm installing 15X9 front and 15X10 in the rear for my TII swap. Grannys makes a bolt in 8.8 if you don't want to build your own.
In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs and other rotary related reading. Download what ever you need. Btw, the unwritten rule is newbs must post pics, I'd like to see the engine bay.
