Need Help - Rear Wheel Noise
Would appreciate some opinions...
I have a scratching kind of noise (slightly pulsing) on my left rear wheel when I turn right. Sounds like rubbing brake pads. Left turns are fine and straight ahead is totally quiet. Calipers are rebuilt, pads are new and I have just installed a new brake hardware kit. I removed the Emergency Brake Cable to eliminate that possibility (no change).
Am I right in thinking it might be bearings? (83 GSL)

Ok, you do know that 1st Gen 7's don't have CV joints, right?
In all seriousness, I'd say that it's more than likely the bearing on that side that needs to be replaced - if doing one axle, do both, as they have the same # of miles on them, and the other one is probably getting ready to go out soon, as well.
Also, if you just installed a new brake hardware kit on there in the past few weeks, I'd get under it with a flashlight and have another look to make sure you didn't miss something, or leave something hanging. The e-brake cables hang very close to the suspension rods (lower links) in that area and could be causing your rubbing sound under weight shift during corners.

Found my problem, the bottom bolt that holds on the caliper assembly was too long and was rubbing on the inside of the rotor. I did not realize the two mounting bolts were different lengths...
Thanks All...
