Need help with flush mount headlight conversion

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm working on fabricating my own flush mount headlight set up. I was curious if anyone has done this themselves and if they could give me some info. I'm using the Hella 90mm high and low beam headlights and I'm kind of stuck on how I'm going to get them mounted so they are high enough to work correctly but low enough so a plexiglass can be used to cover them and still be flush with the body.

any help is greatly appreciated.

You cant really cram 2 90MM pods in there, just isnt enough room.
The smaller 50MM Hella pods are a better choice.

I was able to get one set of 90MM's in for the low beams, but they had to go on the inside in order to clear the lids.....and they JUST barely clear. The shorter, rectangular lights are my highbeams, and they are prety much useless, except as a supplement to the Hella lowbeams.

My setup is a converted MidTennMiata kit I did a number of years ago........no,its not availible anymore,no its not watertight, and no Im not 100% happy with the final product.....but its OK for now and its brighter-ish than stock.

Sounds like the way to go would be a 90MM (low beam?), and a 50MM (High Beam?)

Personally,Id flip it around.

There just plain isnt any room on the outer edges for the big 90's.And, low beams are supposed to be on the outside, for better dispersion....or for whatever reason, they look right being at the outer edge.

When I redo mine someday,Im gonna go with 50MM HID lowbeams and 90MM incandecent high beams.
