Put in a Optima red top, worked to make fit the stock battery tie down, I think factory. Drove to work, all is good. Pulled in, washer fluid started to shoot out, smoke started to come out from under dash, not to bad. Smoke started to come out from under the car in front of rear driver's tire. After looking over fuel pump connection, all good no burnt wires or sign of smoke. Under the hood, batter positive side terminal was touching radiator support, tie down broke! Smoke was coming from throttle cable and choke cable, melted the cable rubber surround. ??? Short snapped ground cable bolt to the body.

Replaced bolt for ground, secured battery-100% this time, checked fuses, replaced engine fuse which was blown, started car....PERFECT IDLE! Checked for smoking....ALL GOOD. Took for test drive, no power. Checked choke, can't pull it out. Looked at throttle and choke cables, surround is melted tight to the cable itself. Picked some of the burnt part of it off and rechecked everything again. Driving the car, it has no pick up and seems to stumble. There is good spark on both coils, car just has no pick up.....any ideas on why the car could be stumbling on itself with no power?....Life of owning an RX7....DANG!!!!!
