Cool need headlight coversion for 85 rx7

I have a 1985 r-x7 and I'm trying to find a headlight coversion to replace the factory headlights. I'm looking for the ones that have no motor and have the stationary type lense with the modern clear covers. If I can find the original motors for the headlights for a fair price I will be happy to pay.

Make your own, like I did......
Gamble your money(and lose) by calling CP Performance......
Or, wait a little longer for a new set to be developed here.....

They are coming,do a search for the thread that was just up here a few days ago, someone is working on a 1st gen specific flush light kit.

LOL! Yep, Steve's car is indeed a beautiful and functional machine. Almost
everybody gets a boner when they see it for the first time. (Or even the 1,000th time).

It takes a lot of time, money, time, money, effort, time, skill, money, and desire
to get to the level of his car. Even while doing most of his own modifications, I am sure he has spent a ridiculous amount over the years to get the car to where it is now.

As posted before though, please review the Archives, the FAQ, and the Search functions before asking such open and general questions. Almost 95% of your questions will have already been covered in great detail at some point or another.

We'll be happy to help with the other 5%.

Thanks,
As Directfreak noted,it took a long time to get that way,and I owe a lot to the guys online that I learned from and leaned on, over the 10 year buildup.Taking best 1st gen last year at Sevenstock was a great finale to my build, now I just drive it and enjoy my work.It was a major money pit, even though I did nearly all my own work.No longer having that draw on my limited income is a welcome position to be in.....(although all the spending did help crank up my credit score over the last decade!)

The light kit is a one-of-a-kind since it was adapted from a Mid Tenn Miata flush light kit,and they are no longer availible or made.Id hold out for the kit that is supposed to be coming soon. We'll all have to wait to see what happens, many have tried, few (none) have ever come through with a quality flush light kit for the 1st gen masses.

Boosting power from the 12A is a relatively easy prospect, provided that a few things done bother you........
1st......Smogging a pumped up rotary is not easy, unless you go EFI/turbo.Getting power from a carbed N/A setup will make passing any smog test nearly impossible.
2nd....Fuel consumption will suck.Rotaries drink gas,and lots of it...especially when you start modding and driving hard.Thankfully, non turbo/nitrous rotaries love to burn cheap fuel.If you turbo/supercharge/nitrous your engine, then premium gas should be considered mandetory.
3rd.....Its gonna cost you.Hop-up parts for our cars can be pricey since rotary companies are not prevelent, compared to the piston engine aftermarket. There arent 40 million venders pushing for our buisness, like with Hondas.Thankfully, since our cars are older,a little old fashined ingenuity and hot-rod common sense can make a fair amount of HP without buying tons of expensive parts,(although spending the big bucks can net you plenty of HP too)

Typically,a non-turbo carbureted 12A can be taken from 100HP to about 150HP with only external bolt on work.Thats a 50% increase with almost no loss of driveability and only modest cost.Work on exhaust, ignition and intake for starters.Get on the search button and really scour this site, theres tons of info to find. When you do start doing the mods, then ask us the precise, component specific questions, and youll get good answers.Simply asking for help on how to make more power is too broad a question and its all been covered too many times for us to keep typing the same answers over and over.

If you read the page on the website for the carb, it should have told you what you need to do for fuel and potential hp. If not Racing Beat has the same thing.

Will the stock pump work, not even close, it has enough of a problem keeping up with the stock Nikki carb somedays.

In case you haven't seen my sig line yet, or need access to the FSMs and other manuals, check it out.
