Good idea.
The wouldnt the fuel cell have to be in the car?
I will search about how others have done a fuel cell. Im in desperate need of some fix, I have a geo metro tank installed and it is giving me rust and flow issues.

I had a few pin holes of rust forming in my tank. I went to the junkyard and found a very nice solid one for $50. Essentially brand new. Before going so far as to adding a fuel cell, I would look near by at junkyards to see what you can find.
If you do find one that is structurally good but is full of goop, you can take it to a radiator shop and have it cleaned. After cleaning if you really want to make sure it lasts, POR-15 has a gas tank liner that I have heard very good things about.
Be aware that there have been a couple of different changes to the fuel tanks through the production years of the FB. Pre '84 cars have a small, round place for the float with the send and return lines brazed into the tank itself. Cars made '84-'85 have a larger elliptical hole with the send, return and float in a single package. I believe that the only real problem this could create is that you may have to extend the rubber fuel hoses and or wires.
While using a fuel cell can help to eliminate starvation issues, it does have the added drawback of no fuel gauge. This would be a huge negative in a street driven car, not to mention the fabrication involved.

The difference between the tanks is due to the difference in the size of the spare tire, full size vs. space saver. If you could find an SE, cut the tire well out of it, frame rail to frame rail, grab all of the fuel lines, up to the firewall, fuel tank and swap those parts into your car. Problem solved including having too small of fuel lines for the bridgy. To remove your current tire well, drill out the spot welds and separate the well from the unibody. Trim up the replacement tire well. Install with heavy duty automotive pop rivets and RTV or drill 1/4-5/16" holes in the new well and tack weld it in.

Thanks for everybody's thoughts and ideas.
Sorry, Wacky, I dont know any one in socal.
I think Im going to check the junk yards and get a radiator shop to clean it for me? Seems like the best and most cost effective option.

Wow now I feel bad I have been burning them in my fire pit. Shipping is a problem on these unless you wash them out and they are so big it ends up costing alot of money.

Fuel cell from summitracing.com cost me 182 shipped with foam and sender sump style and the install will cost me one sawzall blade and some braket steel and my time its great!!!!
If you dont have the welder like me then you can get thier install kit but you will have to cut and seal around the hole were your spare tire went, but this is only if you get a tank as big as mine i think you can get a 10inch tall by like 24 wide and 16 deep it might fit snug with no big hole but you will still need to fill it from the top.
