Red face my tach, oil press, water temp. no workie

okay since i bought my car, my oil pressure, water temp have never werked. i plugged a wire that was disconnected up on the drivers side of the engine and them temp gauge went all the way to the top and the car was verry ccoccocccooollddd. so maybe that wasn't where it goes. also no oil pressure at all ever how do i fix that and my tach only workes after the car is rewally warm under the hood . so on a really hot day it allways workes, but on cold days it only workes when under hood temps get high???
WTF!!!!!!!!
HELP?

I'm talking about Guinness Stout, but a PIC probably won't help.

Wow, Hyper, your second sentence is way out, man..

Your problem is wiring, obviously. The exact location, though, that's tricky. My Oil pressure and water temp gauges ran were broke awhile back and it was a 8 or 12 wire connector on the passenger side near the top of the wheel well underneath the windshield wiper fluid resivoir. You might check there. Somehow, mine was gnawed in half. I cut and spliced in a new connector, boom, fixed.

If that's not it you'll have to bust out the haynes and do some schematic tracing. But good luck. I happen to have a bit of electronics experience, and I can tell you that those schematics are for every model car... IE, not accurate. You might also check the wiring comin off the sending units themselves and trace where they go. Good luck. (you'll need it.)

Check that the wire isn't off the oil pressure sensor. It is located near the oil filter. It's 1 wire that is connected on the end (directly) of the pressure sensor

the oil pressure sender is a large round brass looking thing near top of driver side engine on rear housing i believe. It has a circular connector that you slip the wire across.
The wire is brown/ yellow stripe

the temp sender is right next to it and small like 1/4 " round 10mm thing with a smooth post on it .
the wire is yellow/ white stripe and clicks straight in.

oh yeah your tach should be a yellow/green wire near the coils , attached to the negative side.
