If you dont mind me asking, how many wattage is that rockford sub getting and how's the sound quality. I'm redoing my system and i'm thinking about going with the rockford 10in 500 watt P210D4 with 5.25 rockford componant speaker set for the front and maybe a pair of rockford coaxials thats around the same wattage is the fronts. and possible a jvc double din headunit, but who knows when i get around to that...
But my ultimate goal is for my interior to be as nice as yours eventually

I am not a stereo guy,so I don't know what I am looking for,or really care, but it looks like you did a great job. I do however want to thank you for keeping the brown interior alone,it is the best color interior in a first gen by far. I am jelous that I don't have the brown in my 79,but then again I am not sure it was available then. Good job.

Jshiz, the sub is geting 394 watts per the rockford birth certificate. And i am soory but i do not know much about the newer rockford stuff.
MazdaX605, Thank you! My little labo of love really paid off in this install, it sounds very crisp and precise; more importantly it is louder than my exhaust, lol.

It's cool, i ended up with a lighting audio sub (with 400 max wattage and 200 rms wattage) and a pioneer headunit. I just need to finish making my mounting kit (two more drill holes to go) but give me a couple of months, my interior WILL be as comparable as yours (maybe not but I'm gonna try)

Thats a sick setup, pretty sure thats what im going to do once i get more money. I put all new speakers in, i think im gunna try to put two 8 inch subs in each compartment behind the seats, and throw a black screen over the top. That would be pretty stealth.

this thread is old, but i do love the sub box, i wanted to do something like that, but i figured it was gonna be way too much work so i never did instead i just made a huge box that fits snuggly on the back sorta like a 'T' lol, i like it but deffenetly not stealth....
anyways quick question for anyone out there, i installed my stereo never had problems, anyways the other day when i did my transmission work, and i reinstalled everything i think it messed with the stereo grounding or something cuz now when i turn on the car (not crank it, just turn the key) a loud pop comes from the sub, and then static sound until music starts playing, but everyonce in a while you can hear the slight static (when music is playing) and when you rev the engine the static will "rev" also. You think i hooked one of the wires wrong in the tranny, or a bad ground or something? thanks.

Nicely done mike.
On a side note, your amps are starting to overheat if your stereo cuts out. IIRC most amps have a "safety" cut of switch or thermo switch or w/e so they dont start fires from overheating.
Nice interior for sure.

well, everything's working fine, but the static sound going into my speakers is what's bothering me, the amps are not cutting off, the bass/trebble everything sounds great, but there's just added static. now it's gottened to the point were you can hear it lightly in the background even when music is playing, before you could only hear it when the stereo first cuts on then it would stop as soon as music started playing. i checked all my tranny wires but i'm sure they're all hooked right, i didn't mess with any other wiring when i reinstalled my tranny so idk.

have you sound deadened the interior yet?? If you want some ideas check out my thread... there are a couple pics of the interior completely pulled with all the dynamat out on display.
Nicely done... i'll be doing something similar to that on my interior panels soon

no, but it was working fine w/out it, and before i messed around with the tranny :P, idk, today i got home and parked the car and my amp went dead, it turns on but it goes into the protection mode, so idk what's wrong with it, it just pissed me off so i said screw it. hopefully it'll fix itself or something :P. the static sound is still there but is not as noticeable w/out the big 1000w amp and the sub.
