That is strange. That is the first time I've not had the color code show up on the color code list for the models of the first gen rx7. Maybe I am just skimming over it too fast, but I don't see A9 on there.

Then again, I don't see a blue color for a '79 at all.

Whatever color it is from, it looks really great in that color.

Might have been a special order color, will have to check with Mazda. The Vin # corresponds within the 79 year models.

i was just finding the rotorhead link myself to post the link but got distracted by the "gear girls" section .... there is a link for th VIN numbers somewhere that will confirm the year ... also i think if it doesn't have a seperate voltage regulator near the drivers fender its an 80.

congrats anyway ... hope you take better care of it than the couch in the background

my SA is below , if you want a cup holder the early 90's miata acessory attaches perfectly into the ashtray area .... also there is a trim brite product than can repalce the peeling dash accents

What about my couch, next your going to say my living room is dusty

She's a 79, still has the external regulator. Thanks for the interior tips.

Doc, I noticed you posted a pic of the paint code sticker, where is that located on the SAs? It's on the firewall vin plate on the later models, but I didn't see it on the SA I had in the shop the other day.

Nice 79'. VERY CLEAN! I do like the 79-80's better than the others. I guess since its more car than accessory. And you are in California, what do you mean you don't have to worry about smog?! Its weird, all the 79's Ive seen so far on the forum doesn't have the wannabe Burberry seats like mine has, or maybe I over looked something. Once again, nice find.

Thankyou. Yes, no smog because I am moving to Oregon.

Trochoid, yes midwest is correct. As you open the hood it is on the lower left inside of the hood.

Damnit, I thought you had a secret so that I wouldn't have to smog mine, but I guess moving to Oregon is the only way... heh

Also, don't mean to get the thread off topic but these are what I'm talking about. I guess they are the same as yours Mike, just different colors?

She got this one back in 79 from a guy that had purchased it new then decided to go to Germany. It came with A/C and the guy had it removed but she has saved all of the components since then and kept them sealed. She put the later model wheels on it and had them polished. The original spare has never been on the ground because she put a later model wheel as a spare. Imagine a spare from 79 and wheel that are still in Factory condition.

Anyways it's a sweet car that has been extremley well taken care of with records dating back to 79. It's alot of receipts. I took it for a short drive today and forgotten how I missed driving a seven.

I forgot to post pic's.

oh Wacky, you also missed out on some very old literature that came with the car.
Looks like one of Racing beats original catalogs, only has rx2/rx3 items and a genuine rx2 manual, too bad it's not in Fillipino/spanglish for you but I could read it to you like a bedtime story.

Nice find! Glad to see it fell into the hands of someone who appreciates what it is. I too am a fan of the small tailights on the RX7's. Harder and harder to find it seems.

Damn, I did one of my every 2-3 month crash and burns. The dogs did not even bark or I was so out of it that I did not hear them. Pretty sweet car you think.

Will hook up with you and drag Kory along before I leave for Frostbiteville, lol.

By the way, I stole the seatcovers that were on the old Fb seats to put on the Sa to protect them for now.
