It looks like I'm going to have to cut up the wiring going to the head unit and see if I can splice in regular RCA cables. I think that I should be able to though.

The DIN cables are sheilded 1000% better than anything you can get today.

I'm doing good bro, thanks for checking in. Besides work and fighting, every spare minute I have is going into this car. Keep checking back as I hope to have a lot more progress to show after this weekend.

No, this weekend was filled up with family and X-mas time killing. But I'm off all next week so I plan to work on the car every day next week. If all goes right then I'll have all of the interior out and hopefully some of the engine accessories.
RX-7 obsessed, thanks for the compliments bro. If you're ever in Cali look me up!

I'll be in the garage working on the car in about an hour. I haven't had a single minute to touch the car until today. But it's on now!! I'll have pictures posted up by the end of the weekend. I am planning on having at least one more day after today to work on it so I'll just post everything up then. Thanks for checking in on the project everyone. Not that I need the help, but it really does help to keep me motivated.

Hey Zach, I know we PM'd a little on these I was able to get some pics of what I have to show you.
There are actually 2 seperate cars the Tan one is the one I am trying to ID. The black one is all mine and I know the complete history it is a playtoy.

Rotarydude,
Great looking cars. That black car is super cool!! Great toy you have there. We'll have to get together at Sevenstock or RotaryFest (my clubs big meet in NorCal) and talk sometime. If you need a place to crash up here we have a spare bedroom.
Drop me a PM and give me some of the specifics on the black car sometime. Who did the conversion for you?
Now the white one could be a PA. But the top is different than mine. Every pic I have seen of PA's with the top up they have the triple windows in the back just like the 450SL Benz's they were modeled after. Also, the metal stips that go up from the door to the top of the a-pillar that makes the window look split isn't on that white one. There are a few more differences that I noticed too, but without actually seeing it in person I can't tell for sure. Are you trying to pick up the white one as well?
I got all of the original Rotary Rocket magazines in soft copy so if you want them just give me your email address via PM and I'll get them to you straight away.

Be careful about making conclusions based on the top. Soft tops are typically replaced over the years, and a replacement might not always be identical to the original. Furthermore the triple window style was not exclusive to PA.

I know for a fact that the top on mine has been replaced, I brokered the deal for the guy to get this car in the first place over 6 years ago at that time he did have the top replaced. Yes it is now my car the owner is a very cool guy that understands the history of unique cars like this and want to ensure that it got back to an enthusist. I don't think that it is a PA many of the items that Zach mentioned are the exact same questions I had when I first saw the car, but I would like to know everything I can about it.
Finally yes I have gotten some PMs on them both so let me fix it really quick,
Yes they are both mine, no neither one is for sale. The both are currently at my dads place in Kansas.

UPDATE TIME!!!!

Ok, so I got the rest of the interior out of the car. And I can say one thing for sure. Al Dooley made sure that the car would be stiff enough after the top was removed!!
Here's a pic after the radio surround and glove box were taken out:
Steering wheel removed:
Dash removed:
Here's part of the old school alarm that is in the car and the "remote" for the same system.

Instrument cluster removed:
The last remaining speakers from the audio system. Located in the kick panel: (Passenger side shown)
And removed: (Driver's side shown)
Seats and front carpet out:
All carpet out. Look at these bracing plates!!:
And where they cut out some original sheet metal. Not that the car is really missing it though.
Ok, so that's where I am now. I'm hoping to get back on the car today, but I'm not sure if time will allow or not. I'm getting more and more excited as this project moves on. And as always, thanks for checking in on my project. It's great to know that I'm not the only obsessed person on here.

Chris, no it's not my only tool kit. But I don't have a whole lot more either. haha. And yes, I'm going to need a black dash as well as a black shifter surround piece. Other than that everything else is in great shape. Why, you have one laying around at the house or something?
