My new project (56K NO WAY!!)

So you wouldn't mind taking this heap off my hands huh Wacky? I'll let you know if I completely lose my mind or something.
RXtasy, thanks for the tip. I'm going to keep digging and see what I can find out. I am still going to change the color though. I never really liked red and most of the RX's I have owned so far have been red. So I'm going to break that cycle. Not to mention, Pacific Avatar changed the cars color from the factory anyway. The VIN plate under the hood states that it was originally a white car. It would be pretty funny if this car did belong to a movie star though.

RedR1, you know the Avatar will be finished first. Your FD won't be done until SS20!!
Robert, yeah Wacky has bumped his head one too many times and is usually a bit disoriented.
Fumi, you know where I live bro. Just give me a call a few days in advance and I'll have a room ready for you.
Twinkletoes, that's exactly what I was thinking.
And after further examination, there is one mod that I think is going to be necessary. I want to scrap the bee's hive and put a proper oil cooler on the car since I have to worry about the turbo cooking the oil too. I really hate to change anything around in the engine bay, but I think modding for the sake of reliability isn't that bad of an idea. Anyone have an opinion on that?
Oh yeah, I'm going to start removing and cleaning up the interior after work today!!!!

I guess christmas came early for us. I bought a clean *** 73 RX-3 yesterday. I just need to get the original white interior re-done and install the 6port streetport. Decision decision...too many options...Im not sure on what type of port I should do on my TII block and which FB to junk.

My opinion on the whole restoration is that you should go with your judgement and make minor, tasteful mods for reliability. Keep the spirit of the car the same, but yeah ditch the beehive.
It's such a rare build that chances are you could change a dozen things and nobody would ever be able to point it out (without looking at this thread for comparison). You still have a heck of a car there, and it'll be admired and worth a bunch almost no matter what you do with it.
I agree with your choice for interior/cover colours, charcoal would definitely work well. As long as you take some time and effort to do it properly (so that nobody can tell it was coloured unless they *know* what to look for) it'll work well.
Keep the spirit of the car, the image, and make tweaks where necessary. And don't forget to clean, wax, polish, shine, buff, wirebrush, chrome and powdercoat anything that will sit still long enough for you to get your hands on it.

Jon, I couldn't agree with you more! I'm going to take my time and make sure that everything is done PERFECTLY! I won't accept any part that isn't. Once it's finished people will never know that I changed it from the original condition. But at the same time, I didn't want to mod it and lose the spirit of what that car is. If it doesn't make the car more reliable then it won't go on the car. Here's the mods I am figuring up so far:
1. Aluminum radiator (same size as stock though)
2. Ditch the bee hive
3. new exhaust (but not bigger, just new)
Other than that it will retain everything that was there when Mrs. Hays bought it.
