my new motor!!!!!

"in a few weeks that is"
just wanted to blab about my luck. i went to a promazda meet yesterday and met up with a bunch of guys, not too many rx7's but there was one FC with a 13b LARGE streetport and turbo. he's rebuilt it twice and and is pulling out, rebuilding it again and selling it to me for a couple hundred dollars OWNAGE! i just wanted to ask what kind of carb do you think would be best. he says i should just get a holley 650 or so with the racing beat lower manifold. think that will suffice? anyways, heres a pic. WOOT. the motor in his car is making around 375rwhp.

p.s. the two previous rebuilds weren't from detonation hahaha, he just rebuilt it every 8,000 miles for reassurance. WOOHOO!

no accessories like, intake, alt, turbo. it's just that main piece with the housings, rotors, flywheel in my case, etc. i already have everything i need except the carb and intake and turbo plumbing/ carb hat. i'm using the s5 stock turbo.

it was actually rebuilt once before he got it. then he rebuilt it before he put a bigger turbo on it. and as a favor he's going to rebuild it for me.

4 barrel with mech secondaries should give me better streetability. i need as much of that as possible with a large street port. then again, the turbo should spool up pretty quick. i know you are thinking i should go weber, but how is that for low end power?

well, be it going efi would be great; that's a hell of a hassle. i have to individually buy the ecu, harness, sensors, throttle body, etc.. or i could just get a carb and manifold and go! WOOHOO! it doesnt "HAVE" to b holley, i just dont know of many good streetable carbs.

So he is selling you his engine for a couple hundred $$, after he rebuilds it? Excuse my ignorance, but I thought it cost more than a couple hundred $$$ just for basic rebuild kit???? Why would he spend more $$$ for the kit than he charges you for the complete rebuilt engine????
