Hehe, on a quiet night you can hear ALL of the cars rusting in Michigan! In winter, the deer will stand in the middle of the road just licking the salt off of it (no, I'm not kidding). There's a good reason why I have 150 watt spots on the front of my 7....

Yep, you can find clean cars... wets coast, Canada, down south. What's cool about this one is that the darn thing isn't all tired and trashed and feels like a new car.

OK, ok! I paid $8k. I thought it was reasonable for what it is, a low mile car. An SE with 35k miles sold on ebay for $7500 a few months ago, and it had been repaired and repainted, so I thought this was a reasonable price. Another one with 22k miles sold on Cars.com for $9k last month, and the dealer had a ton of calls for it.

By the way, this car was in Pinckney MI, a little rural area between Detroit and Lansing. And there's another low mile RX-7 for sale in Pinckey... how strange is that? It's an 83 S with just 18k miles! It's on Cars.com, but the guy is asling $12k. I spoke with him, and told him he should expect $4k to $6k at tops.

Good Luck PJR

I just posted an FYI on that car in the classified section. Just saw it in Hemmings.

Drive safely.

Hey JB, I'd collect them if I had the space LOL!

But no, I have just one. I sold the 2nd white SE last week. The plan was to replace it with that car from Miami but I never could get the straight story on the car. With every e-mail something would change about its condition. Finally, I asked for a few recent pictures before I flew down and I never heard back. In reality, I don't think he wanted to sell it. Seemed like a cool car though... Anyhow, I fell into this Silver SE and the rest is history.

That Car is easily worth $8k. Why? Because I'd pay 8k for it if you hadn't. The way I figure is this: any car should be good for 100k miles , so if you amortize the original cost of 15k linearly that's a cost of $1500 per 10k of miles, so your car has only lost $3300 of value so it's still worth $11700 just as transportation, in 1985 dollars! It's a steal at $8k. Like I say, I'd have bought it. In fact, if anyone has a nice SE that clean and low mileage send me a PM.

I bought my 84 GLS-SE with 30K at an estate sale for $4500. Only mods to t was accel wire/coils, and an alpine cd, eq,amp and 2 10" woofersall custom install. I found it between New Braunfels and Austin TX in 2003. The guy's wife had it in a climate storage building that they had built to kep it and a 1972 Porche 911 Targa. Amazing what you kind find just cruising around. I was at Ft Sam getting my military retirement finished and went driving with a friend who lived around there. Good find.

That would be a funny story, a guy in California buying a car from Michigan.

Hemmings

there is supposed to be a really nice SE in Min for $6400.

70k miles.

Check out Hemmings.

According to this post there seems to be a good deal of interest in clean original SE's.
