My ghetto DIN gauge holder

Well, it's not the slickest, laser-cut gauge holder you can get from people like akiradan, but since I do not have the kind of money to afford one (yet) or extra gauges (yet) I figured I'd make one of my own. I went to Home Depot and picked up a small piece of galvanized steel and a hole-saw for my drill. (Note to self: Next time, make sure the hole-saw has a drill bit inside it to keep the hole-saw on track when cutting into the metal )

I decided to color it black to make it blend in a little. I did have it primer gray but it looked a bit out of place. Next time, as the saying goes "If you can buy it, buy it." While this only costed me about $8 ($15 actually because I had to exchange the hole saw for a replacement cutting wheel shaft and high-speed cutter for my Dremel. BOTH of which still made a shoddy looking hole) it was worth it. When I get two more gauges, I'm going to get a laser cut DIN gauge plate instead. That galvanized steel is very flimsy, especially at the top and bottom where the gauge sits.

And, for mounting the plate, I used double-sided tape on the little tabs that were part of my center console. For all the hassle I went through, I'm pleased. Tell me what you think.

It doesn't look that bad for $15. Sounds very flimsy, but looks okay... good work!
