pull out the leading plugs on both housings unhook the slip off connectors on the two coils (driver side fender) and turn it over to expell out all of the gas clean up the spark plugs make sure there dry then put it all back to the way it was before ie.hook up coil and spark plugs. and turn the car over

I hate to sugest this, but you might just need to get a new starter, or it could be easy and you just need to get a new distributer. If its not flooded and you can still crank it over the battery is still good, if you're not getting any park, you might need a new starter solonoide. Hope that helps.

Have the starter tested and if that doesn't work, take a good look inside the distributer.

Spark plug wires are old possibly. Change the plugs and wires first, then go from there.

How the hell does a starter have to do with spark if it's turning over the engine just fine?

Don't bother with the starter, just make sure the battery is charged up.

Sounds like youve prety much redone the whole ignition, so as long as everything replaced was working, and installed correctly you should at least hear some sort of sputter, or the car should start if the timing is proper. My only thoughts are that you flooded the car prety bad trying to fix the problem and soaked the plugs. If you unflooded it properly and have dry plugs, youve got me.

Don't waist your time with the ATF BS. I've had 3 Rx7's flood on me and I've used the push starting method every single time to get them running again. It worked every single time. Check this old link and my link within it to read my explanation as to why it works.

Or, use MMO rather than ATF. Just dump a little down the carb and crank her over. As far as weak spark goes, sound like a poor electrical connection (either positive or grounding at battery or starter).

Don't bother with the starter, just make sure the battery is charged up.

First of all there are two parts to a starter. the part that turns over the enginge and the part (starter soloniode) that pushes the spark to the distributer. If the soloniode is out the engine will turn but there will be no spark.

I've used the push starting method more than just a few times. embarassing, especially through the intersection in front of one of the most popular malls and towncenters of virginia, but it works!

You are mistaken. The solenoid's only purpose is to engage the starter so that it turns the engine rather than just spin the starter. This has nothing to do with the ignition system.
