Mufflers when choosing the evil of two lessers:

ok im a student and need to replace the stock muffler on my 82.

so i am looking between the CHerry bomb:

and the cherry bomb turbo:

I know its not up to teh snuff of a racing beat but please consider the application: i need to get exhaust out the tailpipe and not seeping into the cockpit.

so, between the two, very cheap mufflers, which is best in terms of performance, durability and sounding less gay?

or wouldi be best off just running a straight pipe out the back?

cherry bomb turbo

i love this:

this is from their "warranty" :

This warranty does not apply to any muffler which has been installed on any commercial or racing vehicle, which has been improperly installed, altered, or subjected to misuse or damage from accidents, has been damaged as a result of improper vehicle maintenance, or to damage caused by or resulting from what is commonly referred to as backfire

i would say the turbo. because the regular cherry bomb is glass packed. and will melt a way in a few months, resulting in a very loud sound and it dose not sound to good..

the turbo is metal in side and out and will not melt a way like the glass would.

i know you dont want other suggestions, but i have a V-force muffler, which are CHEAP and have a 1 year warantee, plus they sound great. I'd go with one of these, if you canhandle the noise.

I bought a muffler for $35 on ebay. Had it for like six months, still sounds great. I might not drive my 7 as much as you though. I plan on just welding a new one on when its bad.

muffler

I went with jc whitiny 17 inch glass pack right after my header. Then a thrush turbo 2 on the rear. Tried one of the cherry bombs, was to loud, looked inside it was just a straight pipe inside no holes or perforations to kill the sound. Wally
