I can appreciate what they built, its a nice custom car.Not for everone,clearly....but one of a kind none the less.Thing is,SpeedRacer wasnt The Dukes of Hazzard or Smokey and the Bandit,or Bullitt.
I garantee a LOT of people would not know what that car is supposed to be.If it were black or blue, 99% would probably guess Batmobile. But you park a General Lee in a lot and EVERYONE would know it by sight.

This is like having a conversation with Roger Rabbit. There are some people who are from Cartoon City and others that aren't.

I bet you even Jay Leno isn't interested...

This thread is just for fun isn't it?

I agree, someone put alot of work into that car to make it what it is.

But IMHO, it's an ugly POS novelty car that only really has value to those who truly admired and were obsessed with the show. It's like buying the TurtleVan from the Ninja Turtles (original series of course). It would be an armoured econoline cargo van with computers, radar sensors and a big honkin' machine gun. Cool if you watched the show, but not worth almost 200k

As much as I don't mind having threads like this pop up, I'm going to close this one and let it fall off the board so that some more pertinant threads can take it's place. This one's had its' few days in the limelight.

Jon

Edit: And I would never, EVER trade my 7 for that. Maybe a Mercedez-Benz C111 prototype, but not that.
