Question MSD DFIS Questions

I'am running a MSD 6AL box with two blaster coils on the leading side. The motor is 1974 4 port 13B with a small street port. It has a holley 550 and R.B. road race header and long primary exhaust. Does anyone have a good idea where i should set my base timing? Also running the trailing coil wire through the leading hole in the cap and moving trailing 1 and 2 down to leading 1 and 2 on the cap good idea.? Thanks in advance for any help. Beating Suby WRX's is easy and fun when you'r in a seven.

WRX's huh Thats what I like to hear from an "all motor" rex.

I just installed my MSD and love it. I have a pretty good vacum leak so it's rough for now. I too have been wondering a good base timing(stock 6port, header, intake). I think about 4deg advance would work good but not sure.... Never heard of the switching on the cap.

4 degrees huh? That might work a little better I at O degree tdc right now. The cap thing I have read in a couple of different sites, apparently by switching your trailing over the leading holes on the cap there is one less gap for the spark to jump across. I have been running that way for a couple of days, no problems. The last three times i have went to the track I written "no turbo " on the back hatch. That tends to make more people respect rotaries. Good luck on your super charger project. Atkins shop is about ten miles from my house.
