Msd 6al ???
So, I bought an MSD 6AL for my 79 12a... and i was wondering what all I needed to make it work. Ive heard that I will need two msds? Im so lost and I cant find the dang thread for msd faq. Should I get blaster coils or use stock or both? This thing is driving me bonkers...
I have a feeling this is a good start though... MAZDASPEED MSD

Its not working. Something with my trailing is messed up. That, or the distributer. I cant figure it out. I see the two wires but I dont know if it should disconnect from the distributer or connect to the distributer... Im so frustrated...

the mazdaspeed write up is for '81-'85 electronic distributors, do not try this way unless you have upgraded youre '79 points style distributor to the late model electronic one. If you still have the original points style, follow the install as the msd manual says w/ the white wire for the trigger and ignore the purple/green ones all together... or you could upgrade to the much more hassle free electronic dizzy.
