more turbo crap

ok , i have a very limited knowledge of forced induction someone pls edumacte me

i understand the basics,

exhaust gas is used to spin a tubine and force air through piping and an intercooler ( for best results) into the (carb???) and allowing for a mixture of more air and fuel leading to better performance.

i do not understand, what cools a turbo, if it pushes air through the carb, why nobody has a twin turbo 12a and all of the diffs in the many turbo, intercooler, carb setups

pls help, again i apologis for my ignorance.

ps: i have looked in the archives and did not find a sufficient answer.

thanks, rmayton
