I would recommend trying to search. I hate being the one to post that, but the question is asked and answered everyday at least. Thanks

I'm a newb, so it won't seem as bad if I tell you that there's a search button on the site.
But, first of all, since you're new, buy yourself a Haynes manual. You can find it at any auto shop. They may have to order it though.

Start with an exhaust system. Seems that Monza and Racing Beat make good, bolt on kits.
Try the Victoria British website, www.victoriabritish.com (I think) and order a catalogue.

I don't know where you live, but removing the AC and the Rat's nest are sure to help.

A bigger carb is always good. Try a Weber, or send yours in to Sterling (right?) to get it modded.

You do have a carb, right? What kind of car do you have? What year and model (GS, GSL, S, GSL-SE) do you have?

Peace

I have a 1985 GSL-SE. I am just looking for detailed instructions on how to enhance performance preferably at a low cost.

I thought it was more like: How fast do you want to spend? Or something like that.
Since you have a fuel injection system, start up by freeing up some of your off the wall stuff. Pull the A/C, get rid of the nest, change filters, get a tune up. That'll do wonders for performance. Is this a daily driver? Or just a weekend thing?

SE? I have an 85 SE. First get rid of your cats if you can. Then go with a RB header. Getting rid of the cats is not expensive, getting a catback system is. Header.......unassymbled is $78 from RB. Then find a 2nd gen, get the coil off of it. NOT the one with the two towers, the other one. Jeff20b did a write up on it and is in the FAQ section. This is also a cheap mod. Cost me $15 and about 30 min worth of work. Ditch that fuel pump and get a Carter 255lph pump. Some say Walbro, but it is the SAME pump. Carter makes Walbro, Carter is made by Federal Mogal. That one cost me $72 at NAPA. After that the fun really begins. Those are the fastest and cheapest mods I can think of off the top of my head that I have done.

I like YapaKanichi's idea. I just hate that fuel injection stuff. Unholy it is.

I think Brianhsval covered the rest of the bases for cheap upgrades with his post.

You may also want to give the old engine a rebuild, but that may be out of your way too much if it's your daily driver.
