more CF hood info

yeah yeah I know 1st7heaven makes them too and they're cheaper but I'm still throwing this out. This is his first estimate...he's got multiple crew that build these but this is his email to me:

Yo!
Waz up mah homey.
Ok, so I got a call back from my carbon guys...
Are you sitting down?
To make the mold, lay glass, and bake it so the thing cures right....

Price starts at $1200 and goes up to $2300 plus.
This is for a custom hood, even though it might look stock. Price depends on how easily the mold goes, how many layers of carbon you want, what twil of carbon you want, and if you want a kevlar / carbon/ foam / or fiberglass center.
Of course if we made 10 or more of these things, I am sure the price after making the mold(s) would go around the neighborhood of $650 a piece.
At this moment, I have my guys at NOPI looking into it. Hopefully they can find something much more cheaper that is already being produced.
Thanks again.

This means that for one, at their base price, it's mucho ****** bux. 10 or more will sell for less than $700 a piece. These will look identicle to stock, be uber light, high quality. The hood it's self, if I'm not mistaken, is layed over with one full sheet of CF or multiple sheets, but the way it's done there are no seams. No bubbles. Polished. They're quite paintable, but they're also show-quality hoods if you want everyone to know it's CF.

He's finding some more estimates to see if he can get a better deal.

Holy ****!! do you know what I can do with $700 or however much it costs?!
The only way I would even think about something like that would be if it was under $350 and actually made my car go faster or handel better.
As far as weight savings go I will just remove the rear bins.
