More car problems
2 days ago i juss receive my car from the auto shop. She needed a carburator rebuild, Very nice ride i think the car drove better than it did b4 i drove it to the shop. But 2day is a different story she's pissen me off. i get up n warm the car to normal operating temp, Start driving around no problem until the car starts smoking like hell. Now im really ticked off having a problem like this right after i took the car to the shop. I take it home and she wont idle at all. i turn the car off n look down into the carburator n the bitch is flooded. Can anybody tell me who is in fault here me or the shop. n what can i do to stop the car from flooding, and should the shop fix this problem.

Well, your floats might be sticking. Try tapping the banjo bolts and see if that helps. My car is doing the same thing, but a little worse. Tapping won't work on my car it seems.

Is it a nikki? anyway, I had a prob with my carb flooding. i got it started and it would hardly run and it wouldnt idle. It was the float bowl vent selinoid(i think that what its called). its right under the fuel lines on a nikki. it needs air and stuff.
sorry i suck with carbs.
wait for sterling or carl, they can always help

I think this is the source of my problems too. But the only thing I did wrong was forgot to plug it back in. I haven't tryed it yet, but we will see what happens.
Funny storey though. I've been messing with this carb for a month to get it to run properly. I went outside and just looked at the engine. Just stared at it for a good 5 min. Then I noticed my air vent solenoid was unpluged. I feel so stupid for doing that. I told rx7carl this (the person I have been assesing the problem with) and he's pretty sure thats my problem. A simple unplugged connector.

I was about ready to lay down the money for a rebuilt carb from sterling/rx7carl. I'm glad I found the elusive unplugged connector before I did that. But I have to try it yet. I just plugged it back in and I never got to starting it.

You know whats funny (not to **** anyone off) my carb doesnt flood at all, I wish it did a little at startup.
You see I sometimes have to dump a little as in the carb to get it to start up.
Beats the hell out of me, my jets are squirtiing, and it runs after I dump a lil in the carb, but if it hasnt been started for a week or so I have to dump about 1/4 cup into each primary venturi.
Then it stumbles and starts,
once again beats the hell out of me.
I could care less, im getting a sterling carb once the cars done.
