MONZA header
#4
Thin tubing that burns through right at the 90 degree bend from the exhaust port, tinny sound because of a lack of metal, and on top of that, they get all rusty after your first 50 miles.
Go ahead and get them! (just kidding)
Get the RB headers and you'll never have a complaint about them. They are a reputable company that ships quickly and has a demonstrated commitment to the rotary community. Also, make the investment in a presilencer to help with the tone of the exhaust note with the header installed - the full kit, including rear muffler (PowerPulse) is fantastic and really makes the car sound unique without sounding 'rice'.

I have one. straight pipe all the way from the header to the monza(pacesetter) exhaust. I've put about 5,000mi. on the system and no problems. Yes, the black finish will burn away within the first 50mi. of driving. Personally, I'm happy with the sound. Of course, I bought this not knowing about the Rb system. I've never heard a RB so I wouldn't know to compare.....
I'm sure Racing Beat knows a heck of a lot more than monza about rotaries though!

I got a monza for sale if your interested. Header and cat should hook up to the original exhaust. Got surface rust but still functional. Removed cause you cant use a header and a turbo at the same time

Anyone else out there have experience with both?

Yes they're unequal length, which is not a problem in real life. The intake manifold ports are inequal length too and nobody seems to get into a snitfit for it.
I have NEVER had a problem with burn-through and I've done some STUPID things to my exhaust systems.
I paid a whopping $100 for mine. Go on and find a new RB header for that much!
HOWEVER that does come at a "price"... it's only a bolt-in if you have a '79 or '80, anything else requires some fabbing. Expect the bolt holes to be too small and improperly positioned. Expect to spend a lot of quality time with a die grinder cleaning the collector out - the joining of the two tubes to the collector is *very* casual, and the exhaust flow ends up having to go through a tiny slit.
But once you're over those hurdles, they work just fine.
